What Happens After the Assessment?

Following the completion of assessment sessions, the psychologist reviews, scores, and interprets all information collected. This includes assessment results, developmental history, educational history, behavioural observations, and information provided by parents, teachers, or other relevant professionals.

A feedback meeting is then scheduled to review the findings.

During the feedback session, the psychologist will:

• Explain the assessment results in clear, understandable language

• Review strengths and areas where additional support may be beneficial

• Discuss relevant diagnoses or areas of concern

• Answer questions about the results

• Provide individualized recommendations

Following the feedback session, a comprehensive written report is provided. The report summarizes the assessment process, findings, and recommendations.

Recommendations may include:

• Educational accommodations

• Individual Education Plan (IEP) recommendations

• Learning strategies

• Executive functioning supports

• Behavioural strategies

• Home-based supports

• Referrals to other professionals or services when appropriate

With consent, assessment reports may be shared with schools or healthcare providers to support coordinated planning.
